Shanling's MCD 1.3 is a top-of-the-range CD player with an XMOS XU316 USB interface, AK4499EX+ AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, TPA6120 headphone amplification and MUSES8920 line-out pre-amplification. This device is extremely versatile, thanks in particular to its multiple connections coupled with Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi functionality supporting DLNA and Airplay protocols and being able to be connected to a NAS.

Shanling MCD 1.3 : Fast, high-performance CD player

The Shanling MCD 1.3 houses a high-performance dual-core Ingenic X2000 processor. This chip is the first based on XBurst2 technology, which not only improves computing power, but also enables the device to start up quickly. This processor is combined with a Philips SAA7824 decoder and a Sanyo DA11 playback head, offering excellent playback performance and high-quality sound reproduction.

Shanling MCD 1.3 : Flexible digital outputs

The Shanling MCD1.3 incorporates three digital outputs, allowing it to be paired with a higher-performance DAC if required. The I2S output via HDMI is optimised using an FPGA and is directly compatible with 10 different HDMI I2S pinouts. Optical and coaxial outputs are also available for easy connection to a DAC.

Shanling MCD 1.3 : Pre-amplification according to outputs

The Shanling MCD1.3 also incorporates different pre-amplification stages depending on the output, allowing the most appropriate amplification of the signal in all circumstances. The line output is powered by two soft-sounding OPA MUSES8920s, while the headphone output is powered by a more powerful, harder-sounding OPA TPA6120, capable of driving the vast majority of headphones.
