The evolution of the H300, SMSL unveils the H400, a compact headphone amplifier/preamplifier now featuring an attractive tempered-glass IPS display on the front panel, as well as a grounding connector and grounded/floated switch. Powerful, the H400 delivers up to 15W of power at 16 ohms and up to 7.5W at 32 ohms. Like its predecessor, it features a 3-level gain control, enabling it to adapt to the majority of headphones and IEMs available on the market. Its balanced architecture and discrete components make it an ideal choice that can also be used as a preamplifier.
SMSL H400: a powerful headphone amplifier
With its 15W of power at 16 ohms, the SMSL H400 is one of the most powerful headphone amplifiers on the market. Even at 600 ohms, it's still capable of delivering 550mW of power, while maintaining high performance levels such as an SNR of 133dB and a THD+N of 0.00006% (-123dB, 1kHz, 32 ohms).
SMSL H400: gain control
The H400 features three levels of gain adjustment, enabling it to adapt to the various headphones and IEMs available on the market.

H400: high-end preamplifier
On the rear panel, in addition to its analog inputs, the H400 features an RCA line output and a balanced XLR line output, enabling it to be used as a preamplifier. In this way, the H400 can be used as a key link in an audio system between a DAC and a power amplifier, for example.
H400: a refined appearance
Unlike its predecessor, the H400 features a handsome tempered-glass IPS screen on the front, displaying information on the current playback and allowing you to adjust some parameters.
H400: IR remote control
An infrared remote control is supplied with the H400 for a smooth, comfortable user experience.
H400: a reliable, stable power supply
SMSL has chosen to integrate a proprietary, low-noise power supply to drive all the components of its H400 headphone amplifier. This power supply provides a clean, stable current to the various stages of the H400, partly responsible for its excellent performance.
