The Hermes 12Th USB digital-to-digital converter or digital interface (DDC) from Denafrips is the result of 3 years of research and development by the brand, which benefits from its extensive expertise in the design of DACs and related technologies.
This interface will allow you to extend the digital connectivity of your audio system or computer, while improving sound quality. What's more, the Hermes works perfectly with a wide range of DAC brands and models on the market. The data stream of the incoming USB digital signal is stored by the FIFO buffer and then reclocked using the built-in femtosecond clock. This procedure considerably minimises jitter, guaranteeing a signal free of digital noise. Furthermore, the Hermes 12th benefits from galvanic isolation, protecting the signal from electrical interference and maintaining signal integrity throughout the conversion process.
The power supply stage of the Hermes 12Th has also been optimised to provide all the circuits with a clean, stable electrical signal. These include a large 80VA UP-OCC copper O-Core transformer and precision LDO voltage regulators.

What is a DDC?
A DDC or digital-to-digital converter transforms a digital audio signal from one format to another. Its primary purpose is to facilitate interconnections between different audio devices.
In addition to this conversion, Denafrips Hermes 12th uses advanced processing techniques to improve the sound quality of the output signal.
Denafrips Hermes 12TH : Connectors
The Denafrips Hermes 12Th boasts a plethora of connections. Input is by USB-B, Coaxial, Optical Toslink or AES/EBU. On the output side you'll find I2S HDMI LVDS, I2S RJ45 LVCMOS, two AES/EBU ports, Optical Toslink and coaxial. The Hermes 12Th also features BNC inputs for connecting an external clock.
