Silkline VIMI I: Dual mono architecture
The VIMI I is designed to be totally balanced, with both channels independently powered to avoid crosstalk.
Silkline VIMI I: Discrete components and Toshiba 2SC5198 / 2SA1941 transitors
Thanks to its structure based on transistors and discrete components, the VIMI I allows the input signal to pass through in a fully balanced way. The transistors used operate without damaging the sound signal. This configuration avoids bias current upstream of the class AB power stage, which significantly limits distortion.
Silkline VIMI I: An impressive toroidal transformer & separate power supplies
VIMI I incorporates a high-power toroidal transformer. In addition, each channel has its own power supply incorporating 35V 4200 uF capacitors. This greatly limits interference. Finally, the power supply stage also features overvoltage and overcurrent protection.
Silkline VIMI I: Quality connectors
The RCA inputs are 24k gold-plated, making them corrosion-resistant. In addition, they are all switched with silver contact relays to ensure reliable signal input and low distortion. Regarding the outputs, speaker terminals are made of pure copper for maximum conductivity.
Silkline VIMI I: High-precision volume control
Silkline has equipped its VIMI I with a CS3310 volume controller allowing sound level adjustment in 0.5dB steps. Its distortion rate is also very low, giving the VIMI I a THD of less than or equal to 0.005% (@ 1W).
Silkline VIMI I: VFD display and simple housing design
Silkline's VIMI I features a bright, high-end VFD screen for clear information display. Its 10mm-thick aluminum alloy case is CNC machined.
